Tattoos - Love it or Hate IT

I remember the day I got my first tattoo. It seems just like yesterday when I had it done. The reason I got it is not personal or sentimental like most people. I got one because I kinda became addicted to watching the program called Miami Ink. Its about a tattoo Parlour in Miami, and basically centers around the tattoo artists going about doing their work, tattooing clients.

The work that these guys produce is amazing. Probably some of the best work in the world.

At the moment I have 2 tattoos, one on my calf, a Chinese symbol. Its meaning is the word Spring. The reason, I was born on the first day of spring. And the second tattoo is a tribal design on my right arm, and in the center is another Chinese symbol. Its meaning is simply, respect. I got the Chinese designs first, and then the tribal one afterward. I remember the day, i just walked into the Parlour, chose it and bam. Yeah I do spontaneous weird things sometimes.

Maybe one day I will have another one done, maybe of a Khoi fish, on my left calf, who knows.

I attached a PIC of the one on my arm, the colour is fading abit. I will need to have that redone soon and I also want to get rid of the chinese symbol, it does not kinda go with the tribal.

Remember tattoos are forever, but then again you only live once.

Who needs fat burners?

I thought I'd write this post to tell you about my experience with fat burners. I wont mention the products names for fear of getting into trouble. Oh by the way, its 2 in the morning, yeah I'm having that crazy insomnia episode again.

Fat burners are one of those things that work beautifully but sometimes the sides affects can be horrifieng. I took a fat burner in December 2010. Its a red pill (loads of red pills on the market), and boy did it work like a bomb. I was on it for a month. At the time I was weighing 100KG, but dropped down to 90KG while on this pill. The side effects were crazy, from heart palpitations to feeling of dizziness. Not to mention short tempered. I also experienced twitching in my hands an hour or so after taking the pills. Very scary I tell you. Although when i walked into the gym while on these pills I could go all night and not get tired.

Well after the month had passed I decided to stop taking the pills, and within a month I was back at 100KG. Yep sad I know.

Well December 2011 I decided to go onto another fat burner. This is a well know fat burner. Its side effects weren't that bad. Slight heart palpitations and feelings of weirdness, but not as bad as the other one. Well I stopped taking these pills after 3 weeks. The results sucked big time. I hardly lost any weight.

Immediately after I stopped the pills I decided that I'm going to try the healthy eating route and gyming often. After 6 weeks of eating healthy and coming across a few like minded individuals online that motivate me from afar I'm doing pretty well. I've lost 7 KG, and I feel amazing. And I will continue this life style hopefully for the rest of my life and until i have abs like.....that guy from Top Billing. :)

So in the end the choice is yours whether you take fat burners or not.

Just thought I'd share this story with Y'all

Cheers

Procrastination

Hi There;

Im writing about procrastination because its one of those things I just cant seem to overcome. Since a teenager its something that has always affected me big time, and no matter how hard I try to overcome it just creeps back into my life.

It affects me mostly when I need to do things like studieng. Im sure if I did not procrastinate I would be so successfull today. But im getting better at mastering it, its taking some time.

There are however a few things where procrastination doesent even show its head, i just think and do. Things like going to the gym, washing my car, buying clothes, going out to eat, catching a movie etc

I think its those things that give me instant gratification that I dont find a problem doing immediately.

This is something I will overcome this year. With a shift in my attitude and the way I think im sure I can do it.

Road Rage

Hi There;

Have you guys ever experienced road roage before. No not the type where you
swear and say f*%*k you to the driver then drive off, or show the middle
finger then leiserly drive off. Im talking bout full blown rage, your so
outraged you feel like slamming the guy in front of you or feel like slamming so
hard on the brakes that the guy behind you slams into you. Then after that; you
get out and whip his ass. Yeah, im sure we all have had those thoughts before,
especially in a place like Cape Town, where the taxi drivers think they own the
roads.

Let me tell you what i normally do, if a guy is driving on my ass. I show no
reaction. I continue to drive normal, as he passes me and looks at me and starts
cursing I smile and wave at him, this normally gets them totally pissed.
With a taxi drive, they might say rude things or shout at you. I normally just
give them the stare, the evil stare. I dont say anything, and after a few
seconds they kinda get the picture, (dont mess with this guy), lets rather drive
off, and 9-10 times they do. So I win.

Road rage is one of those things we dont have control of, you dont know when you
might come across a crazy driver. The most important thing is how you handle the
situation and how you react to it. Dont stoop to their level

Safe driving.

What Gym type are you?

Okay so i've been gyming just over 7 years, and in this time I think I have learnt what types of people inhabit a gym, or lets say the gym I go to. I will try my best to explain below.

Classy Type: These was once a lady that stepped into the gym, she had designer clothes on, only. A baby phat track pants, baby phat track top, and a big ass guess bag. Oh not to mention her ipod and her blackberry. She did minimal training, cycling at a snails pace on the bicycle while checking out her blackberry.

Mr Know-It all: This is the guy that gets to the gym, looks for a potential target, goes up to him/her and tells the person what they doing wrong, or right. He does not workout out, but offers his knowledge to all round him, oh he might pick up a dumbell or 2. There was once a guy at the gym, huge and ripped like a horse on steriods. He would go round and offer his advise, and if you did not listen he would walk away, cursing and swearing like a mad man. (High on juice)

The Quiet Type: Okay this is the category I fall into. I get to the gym, check out who's working out, does not make much eye contact with the folks, maybe scopes the sexy checks only. Then I quietly get my weights and pump like a monster and sweats like crazy, all the while maybe just glancing round to see who is watching me. While working out I dont waste time, its quick, focused and good form. Yeah the good guy.

The Screamer: This happens occasionally at my gym, guy is pumpng weights and screaming his lungs out with each rep he does, one would swear the guys giving birth. But wait there is more, there are guys at my gym that, as they walking up the stairs towards the weight section they are already screaming, and screaming funny stuff, like ucha ucha!!! and WOOOWEEEEE, weird i know.

Last but not least !!!

The Old timer: Old folk, quiet, soft workouts, cycling, walking and passive, minding there own business. Seems so at peace as they workout, kinda nice.

Okay i think that about wraps it up, if i have left out something why not share it with me, leave a comment or ...something.

Cheers

Health

So I have been trieng to lead a healthier lifestyle for the past, lets say 2 months. I have been eating healthier, drinking lots of water, working out at least 2-3 times a week and just trieng to be more health-wize. In the start it was kinda hard. I mean, i loved eating that chip thats shaped like a triangle (nachos syle), burgers, popcorn; pies, you name it, anything goes. And with me consuming all these foods came lethargy, constant headches; no motivation, no zest and not having any drive.

Its amazing how good im starting to feel since implementing a new lifestyle. I have more energy, I am more focused, more motivated to achieve, my body is starting to look good and not to mention my confidence level has gone up :). Whenever I need to go to the grocery store, its like my brain is now fine tuned to look for only the healthiest most nutritional things availabe. Its amazing I tell you.

Remember you only have one body, respect it, love it and give it what it needs to function at its best, in the end the only person that will reap the benefits, will be you, and well maybe your partner as well :)

Life

Have you ever wondered what your purpose is in life. I know people are always saying, enjoy the ride and make the most of it. But what exactly is this so called "ride". I know life is filled with stages, you get born, go to pre-school, high school, if your fortunate enough and your parents can afford it, university or colleague. You get married, have kids, buy your first house/car. In between these stages we meet new people, learn new things, experiment with alchohol/drugs, party, travel to new and interesting places, do fun sporting activities, experience different cuisine from round the world.

But, surely this cant be ones purpose, to experience and do things that most of the worlds population do? I think to figure out ones purpose you have to look to a higher source. What exactly that higer source is im not to sure, each individual will have to figure this out for themselves.

Look deep within, to figure out what your purpose in life is. Once you are able to figure it out and do what your suppose to, you will find happiness and fulfilment.

One chance

So today i needed to go to some book shop that specialises in mostly university and coleage textbooks. The reason I titled this piece one chance is because sometimes you may come across something so amazing and beautiful and if you dont take that chance and do something right that instant, that oppurtunity might not come again, and you might end up asking yourself afterwards why did I not do anything. In this case it's a girl.

So there I am, at the book shop standing at the cashier, about to pay for my books. At this point im not aware that somebody is standing next to me, quickly I turn to my left, and I see her. Wow the most beautiful girl I have ever seen in my entire life. As I look at her she looks aware, when I look away I can tell she is looking at me. One thing I did however notice was that she has a tattoo just above her left breast, a peace sign, wow so sexy. So there I am.

Paid for the books and I left the shop. While im walking to my vehicle I cant help but ask myself, why Riyaan, why did you not talk to her, or even say Hi, she was so pretty. And im guessing I will probably never see her again.

Hence the title folks, One Chance

Waves

Aaah Waves;

Dont you just love the beauty and tranquilty of a perfectly formed wave. I think only a surfer will truely be able to appreciate its true beauty, the sound it makes, how it sparkles in the sunlight and how beautfully it forms and abruptly crashes and dissapears, only for a new one to be formed a few seconds later. I think one of the most peaceful things one can do is to go to the beach and just sit, listen and watch the waves. :)

I added a few pics, please note these images are not my own, and were taken by a very talented photographer.

Hike

Hello all;

So i went for a hike up silvermine, last weekend. Its something im starting to like quite alot, the more I do it. There is one particular spot i really like, which allows one to view the entire Hout Bay, very beautiful, although be warned on a cloudy day, you wont see anything. Its a good place to go to; to clear your mind and just take in the beauty and fresh air. Its takes about an hour to get to this point, the path is actually a moutain bike trail, and a few 4x4 vehilces also travel on it. Its what I would call a beginners hike, cause its so short and so easy.

I took a picture from the top, check it out.
